We our big Lincoln fans. We love his simple background and his love of books and God and family. We love his ability to forgive and his desire to treat all men with respect and dignity. We love that he gave his life in service to God and country. We love that he did what was right even when it was not popular. And we loved visiting Springfield and learning more about him. The Lincoln Museum and Library were so well done. The National Parks Historic street where they give guided tours of his house as it was is also so well done. We had a lovely day walking in the footsteps of Lincoln. As we drove we listened to a book on Lincoln and that night we watched “Team of Rivals”. If only such honesty and willingness to accept Gods will existed in the Oval Office and in the seats of power today.
