Luke’s book club right before we left on “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”-
We would celebrate Jake’s 17th birthday in Russia-
THIS is why Mike did not make it home to our lovely primary program where I spoke and Daisie and Luke sang a duet in Mandarin and Daisie played the piano for the first time in church! It was wonderful!
The Morrison Ranch ward let us join them so that Drew could have his eagle court of honor with his buddies that he had gone through all of scouts with.
Buddy Couser, Carter Quackenbush, Drew Dalton=EAGLES!
After years of looking for travel deals we were introduced to Scott’s Cheap Flights- an email that lists cheap travel fares. Last spring while in JFK on a layover on route to London Mike and I came across these killer deals to Finland. We had always wanted to see the Northern Lights so we booked them! When we finally got around to planning the trip Mike opted out of the questionable northern lights during this time of year in Northern Finland and opted for a Helsinki/ St Petersburg/ Tallin adventure. Packing in the primary program, an eagle court of honor and the Baja 1000 we were totally spent by the time we reached LAX. I wish we could have convinced Lily to sleep the whole flight but without her car seat (first trip with no carseat, crib or stroller!) it was a little rough going. We arrived in Helsinki on a clear crisp….very crisp fall afternoon and settled on Taylor’s favorite London cafe- Vapianos where we indulged in delicious Italian food while we gazed at views of the city. Next we enjoyed the lights and the Christmas window displays at Stockmans before wandering down the beautiful Esplanade. The kids were so exhausted and it was so dark that by the time we got to our clean and cozy Airbnb we just let them crash for the night. Welcome to Finland!
