Though the Breadbasket

Monday morning was filled with playing at the park and doing laundry before our long drive to Abel Tasman. The drive took us through the heart of the north which was absolutely gorgeous- mountains, lakes, rivers and orchards for as far as the eye could see. The area was filled with apple trees and fruit stands. Delicious. I spent $50 NZ just on fruit!!

In the late afternoon we arrived in Golden Bay at our beach cottages and the kids quickly got to work on making an epic fort while Tay and I worked on his BYU spring schedule.

For dinner we visited a local pizza feed called “Dangerous Cafe” where we had a pizza feast. This was followed up by same late night Shakespeare (we are reading Julius Caesar as a family) and even later night Lord of the Rings watching. Simple mellow day.
