The End of the World

The end of the world

Our first destination of the morning was the beloved Curio Bay. The boys were excited to surf with the dolphins in Porpoise Bay. Sadly the surf shop was closed and the wind was blowing- hard. We were cold.

Waving goodbye to the dolphins we headed for the hills where we hiked the Waipohatu Loop to two gorgeous waterfalls through the lush rainforest!  So fun, so beautiful and so muddy!

We showed up to Invercargill, the end of the world, starving. While we went shopping at the enormous and packed Pak N Save, Mike and Daisie found a local pie shop, FB Pies. Tay has been begging for the English Pies that are advertised everywhere here and Mike hooked us up with the best to be found. Fresh and full of unique flavors (Butter Chicken, Egg and Bacon, Seafood) and old standbys (Steak and Cheese, Chicken) the kids were in heaven. Happy children were content to listen to the “Twin Towers” as we drove to TeAnau- gateway to Milford Sound and our home for the next two evenings.
